In my humble opinion, using a pre-written curriculum isn't any different than putting the child in the public school system. Of course, this won't be an issue for everyone. However, for me, I don't want anyone telling me what my child "needs to know". I'd rather teach the kids that learning is a daily event, and will take place for the rest of their lives.

As a result, our learning is based on curiosity. We may watch a documentary about animals that sparks the kids' interest, and they want to learn more. We will then learn more about that animal or species, checking out websites as well as books...this may then raise more questions, leading to more research...
